Kamandi (aka Tyrone Frost) is one of the leading lights of New Zealand's contemporary electronic music scene. Hailing from Christchurch, Kamandi first came to national and international attention in 2011, when he began disseminating his original bedroom productions online via soundcloud and bandcamp. He followed that up with nightclub performances around the country, where his sound caught the ears of Madcap Touring, Hit+Run Crew, Red Bull Sound Select, and underground radio stations worldwide.

The fun started when longstanding Wellington club DJ MAREK (POL) met DJ/production talent ARTUR (Beat Mob/UKR) and the two quickly bonded over a mutual appreciation of wodka on the rocks, low-slung southern trap rap, Jersey club, house music and history.

There are not many teenagers who can say that before turning 18 they’ve played festivals alongside FKA Twigs, Flying Lotus, Future Islands, Danny Brown, Mr Scruff, Little Dragon and invited to support acts like Modeselektor, Badbadnotgood, oOoOO, Baauer, Rustie and Matmos but New Zealander Eddie Johnston aka RACE BANYON isn’t your regular teenager.
