Yorke has no time for toxicity in his new video 'Pieces (Ft. lovezombie)'

Leading up to the release of his first ever debut album titled ‘Nü Yorke’, Wellington artist Yorke has dropped new visuals for ‘Pieces (Ft lovezombie)’.

Shot by New Zealand born director and photographer Connor Pritchard who has directed music videos for The Black Seeds, Baynk, SWIDT, Raiza Biza and many more. The visuals set the tone for a classic ‘situationship’ and is based on a true story of something that started off as a fling but ended up in a fire.

‘She wanted to turn our fling into something more serious but I was too busy working on myself and my aspirations to take on any real commitment. This caused her to turn her perception of me into something toxic to help her distance herself from me, I became her enemy. She was fond on the idea of taking revenge, causing her to go out of her way to make sure she was still a presence in my life, good or bad. In real life she set my shirt on fire and posted it on her social media for all my friends to see and hoping I would react to it as well. Definitely a blessing in disguise because it made a great video concept for this song.’

Pieces is available on all streaming platforms

The name Yorke originated when he first moved to Wellington because of his resemblance to the great Thom Yorke. Yorke became his nickname and who he was known as around the city. It's also homage to his parents who are from Yorkshire.

‘Nü Yorke’, the debut album is set for release on June 7th.
